Judy Taylor

CANDIDATE FOR ONTARIO WEST

C.K.C. BOARD OF DIRECTORS

History in dogs:

bullet
I started breeding dogs in 1963.  My first breed was Collies, & shortly after I began breeding Golden Retrievers.  Since then, I have always only bred Goldens.

bullet
In 1968 I began professional handling of dogs for the conformation ring.  I have handled dogs in all groups; but became popular with Rottweilers, Great Danes, German Shepherds & Bassets.

bullet
In 1993 I was awarded Pedigree Pal Handler of the Year.
bullet
In 1996 I successfully handled a Rottweiler to number 1 working & number 2 All Breed.
bullet
I have trained in obedience (I actually started out there under the tutelage of our great mentor Jake) & have achieved U.D. on some of my Goldens.
bullet
I have bred dogs that have succeeded in obtaining their W.C.X. & currently have aspirations in attempting to get a working degree on a current dog.
bullet
I was instrumental in developing the Code of Ethics for both the Golden Retriever Club of Canada & the C.K.C..

Present:

bullet
I am currently working on my judge's license: I am licensed for Group 1 & have applied for the first half of Group 7.
bullet
I am still breeding Golden Retrievers with renewed enthusiasm.

Qualifications:

bullet
In the past I have been vice-president & on the executive of the Golden Retriever Club  of Canada.
bullet
I was a founding member & discipline chairman of the Professional Handlers Association of Canada.
bullet
I held executive positions on the current Canadian Professional Handlers Association, including President.

If Elected:

bullet
I will work aggressively  against Breed Specific Legislation.
bullet
Strive for accountability in all endeavors of the Board.
bullet
Re-instate a qualified CEO  or at least an Office Manager.
bullet
The list goes on & on!  The judge's test is far too easy! (I don't mean the first one: just the ones after!  Not that this means these people make for good judges!)  Cut back on the number of shows?
bullet
This is just the beginning: I do know that most of the proposals in the beginning of the proposed  referendum I am against.
bullet
Do what is best for purebred dogs in Canada & stop the bickering!
bullet
We need a Board that will make decisions & not table & postpone issues!
